I graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University’s Department of Communication in 1993, majoring in Film and Video — then spent the first decade of my career inside telecoms and the early internet: core portal business for Netvigator, pioneering internet TV live streaming with Microsoft, and some of Hong Kong’s first online banking systems. I wanted to know where audiences were going before anyone else did.
In 2004 I produced Love 123 《求愛123》 — Asia’s first microfilm made for the 3G mobile screen — winning multiple Hong Kong ICT Awards. That work earned me the name Father of Microfilm (微電影之父) in Hong Kong, and Father of Microblog Film in the Mainland. The films that followed — from the operator series to 《愛．西施豆腐》, 《極地控訴》 and 《我們遇見松花湖》 — kept one rule: find the next screen first.
Today I split my time between the set, the classroom and the festival stage — and in 2026, with Mercury Technology Solutions, the next screen: AI answers. Every shift in how people watch is a shift in whose stories get seen.
